Hi there,
I am a 42 year old male from Australia, and have recently be diagnosed with ITP. I have found your website to be invaluable over the past few months. Very informative and positive.
I have been down the Prednisone road without any success for the past few months. As soon as I get under 75mg per day my levels fall to below 20. I am currently on 12.5mg and slowly being weaned off the horrible stuff!
I have had 2 infusions of Intragam P which I did not respond to.
Just had my second dose of MabThera (rituxan) today. A week after the first dose my count went from 20 to 25. I understand everyone responds differently however I am interested to hear other peoples experiences and how their levels may have risen, if at all.
Regards
Nathan

Hi Nathan:

The average time that it takes for a person to respond to Rituxan is 4 to 12 weeks after the first infusion. A few people have responded sooner, but that doesn't happen often.
