I'm 19 and I was diagnosed when I was 17 back in 2012, I have tried rituximab and multiple trials of IVIG and prednisone. At this moment, I've been going every month and a half to receive my IVIG treatment but after two years it's now becoming a scare that the IVIG might stop working. Living in Canada, i'm fortunate to have free health care but the province i'm living in does not cover other treatments other than IVIG, rituximab and the spleenectomy. Since IVIg is only temporary, my next option is spleenectomy. I, however am really afraid and fearful of the operation, and the success in the long run. I don't want this being one operation leading to several more in the future. I genuinely don't know what to do now
