Aly,
I cheered for you all the way from freezing cold Michigan! I'm very happy for you. Listen. To the advice of your new friends who have experienced what you have. I can't advise you on treatments as we are newbies over here and still haven't gotten above 32 but I can tell you that I have learned in life that you need to stay knowledgeable and optimistic. That doesn't mean denying yourself time to be seriously ticked off when you cannot do something you want or your counts drop, it means allowing yourself a bit of time to be ticked and then try to find something positive out of the experience. I had cancer when I was in my early 20s and I learned a lot about myself, discovered friends I wouldn't have met, and I think has made me more appreciative of life.

So I agree with Sandi and so many people on here, celebrate this victory, enjoy the gym, enjoy your life and if things take a dip in a different direction don't let it define you. Good luck sweetheart!

Aly,

This is great news! That fluctuation in your platelet count seems typical. Even people without ITP or in remission will have variations up and down. Bruises are nothing to worry about unless you see an increase, they don't heal up, or come spontaneously for no reason. My platelet counts are too high right now, 512k and I still get bruises if I bump in to something.

Hi everyone!

So it has been four months since I have come off steroids and I still continue to have a normal platelet count. I believe my last CBC was 209. I bruise but they fade and eventually disappear. My moonface is just about gone! Which was what bothered me the most. I am actually a whole lot more fit and healthy now than I was before I was diagnosed with ITP. I exercise more now and through my steroid treatment I learned to eat better than I did before and it just stuck around after I finished treatment. Everything is back to normal and I am thankful to have achieved remission.

I would like to say thank you to everyone on here. I am so thankful to have found this site. This has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through and it has been a difficult year for me. I was very afraid when I was first diagnosed with ITP and during my treatment, but all of you beautiful people helped me so much and now things are so much better. I will still stick around to see how everyone is doing from time to time because you all of you are such amazing people! And once again from the bottom of my heart I thank all of you, you guys are awesome! Good health to everyone!

Yay! I'm very glad you are in remission and doing well! I'm also glad your moon face went away pretty quickly! Was yours more puffy on one side than the other? Mine was so that was pretty bad. I hope never to be on steroids again unless it's for a short time like a rash.

Thank you Jeffery! How's the knee? And Happy Holidays to you as well!

Openhanded, that's great to here! We just got to keep going, and keep those platelets up! Woo haha

Vdeutsch85, Thank you so much, and yes! One side was more puffy than the other, it was so weird lol. I totally agree with you on that! Never taking steroids again, unless it's just for a short while.

Aly!

The knee is getting a little better, ever so slowly! I am just getting old and I don't want to admit it, so I wont!

I am so glad that you are doing well!

Merry Christmas!
