B) thank you for this article it gave me some peace of mind.

I've been recently diagnosed with ITP, and it was horrible to think that there is no apparent cause to it. Knowing that in my little "world" there's no effect without a cause.

I've been throughout many tests all of them returning OK, negative or non-reactive. I've been on Prednisone for about a few months. Now I'm waiting for my next appointment with the hematologist which will be in a few weeks.

Not knowing the cause makes all of us cray at first. I think every one of us went nuts trying to figure it out. But if you think about it, no one really knows what causes many illnesses (MS, Graves Disease, ALS, etc.) and ITP is no different.

I´m so happy I have to tell someone. Well, I went to my doctor a few days ago. After reading my test, the hematologist found that my Platelets are not exactly into remission but they are stable above 125K. They have been the same scince I ended Prednisone.

That's great news! You could still consider yourself in remission. There is 'partial remission' which is counts below normal range but above treatment level. Also, the criteria for ITP has been changed to counts below 100.

Thank you for the great articles! You continue to answer so many of my questions. I think as a momto a very young child who has ITP it is very scary mainly not knowing what treatment options to choose. I pray that our doctors didnt miss something and know exactly what they are doing because I sure don't! But you are right knowledge is power :-)
