On treatment for ITP since 1 month was created by nehz20
Hi,

During the first week of Nov 2012, i saw some petechaies on my hands and lower feets, after doing CBC came to know that my platelets counts are just 4000, after doing various test the disease was identified as Acute ITP. Since 1 month i am on medication taking 30 mg of wysolone (morning) and 20 mg of wysolone (night), ShellCal, Victofol and since my sugar level has shotup i am taking Janumate and insulin both.

i am also doing regular monitoring of my platelets and it seems to be in range. Apart from the side effects of wysolone like swelled faced, double chin, cramps in legs etc i am also facing problems like...i have developed small small boils behind by ears and neck and sometimes it happens that my hands gets stuck due to stretching or nerves. For hands i spoke to doctor he mentioned while taking steroid potassium reduces, i did a test for potassium also but its in range...

Hence i thought to ask this forum,, are these systems part and parcel of the medication...i am much more concerned from boils point of view. Also as i have listed down the medication just wanted to ask is this the right medication that is being given or some other medicines are also required.
