Kelirae,
Your story is very inspirational for all of us and I know to Kym who has been posting. It goes to show that you can live with low platelets and still have a life.

Kym,
You will get there--try not to stress too much as this makes your platelets worse at times. Sometimes it takes a healing process for your symptoms to slow down. It can be some weeks before this may happen. Do talk to your doctor like others have mentioned about rituxan. This seems to work for a lot of ITP patients and wouldn't be as expensive as N-plate.

Wishing you the best and that you heal real soome.

Dee Dee

Since the beginning of my journey in September, and nearly a month of prednisone, I completed the Rituxan treatment. The first treatment was the worst by far...I had an adverse reaction of all of the sudden feeling like my throat was on fire. They stopped the treatment and added more benadryl. I felt kind of flu-like the next day, but not terrible. The other treatments were uneventful, and my platelets were fluctuating. Now, 3 weeks after my last treatment, my levels have jumped from 87 to 165 as of yesterday! My dr will continue to monitor, but that is so awesome! I'm normal! (Yeah, my family didn't go for that normal thing either!) LOL I can say I was a little surprised, since my bruising had increased quite a bit since my last blood test, but I'll trust the result and God! Thanks for your support and guidance! And Kim, I hope you are doing better now!

Thanks!

Jill
