Bleeding only above 50k

Hope everyone is feeling better today And thanks for being here.

I'm asking for a friend who's recently been diagnosed with ITP, however she doesn't speak English well enough so I'm posting for her. My dear friend is a bleeder, but she only bleeds above 50k and nothing below. She feels better when she shouldn't according to the test results, and feels worse when she should ne feeling better, again according to the test results. Now of course, with auto-immune, test results can mean nothing. I was wondering if any of you out there have had similar experiences.

And also, does anyone know why some ITP's are bleeders and some are not? As far as what I've understood from the conversations, not everyone bleeds.

I'm not sure how others would see this...but I am a homeopath, so I tend to think in homeopathic remedies. There is one particular remedy that is known for having contradictory symptoms like this. It is called Ignatia Amara, and the nervous system is greatly affected in someone needing it. This state often comes from a deep state of grief or disappointment (especially in love). They tend not to openly express this grief, but hold it within (these are people who may not cry at their child's funeral, for example). There can be a lot of spasms, tics or convulsions. Many other symptoms, too, but they will almost always have this contradiction of symptoms somewhere in their pathology--it goes completely opposite of what you'd expect. You can google Ignatia and contradictory symptoms and read more about it.

As far as why some bleed at high counts and others have almost no bleeding at even 0 or < 3k, I've wondered about that, too. Some people do feel that eating foods high in Vitamin C and Vitamin K, can help to maintain the integrity of the blood vessels. Cell salts, particularly #1 Calc fluor., #2 Calc phos. and #4 Ferrum phos, taken 3-4 times a day, can really help with the integrity of the blood vessels, formation of new platelets and other components of the blood and oxygenation of the blood and tissues. Cell salts are readily absorbed and act much like a mineral supplement. They can help to correct any deficiencies quite well, used over a period of time. They should be used in a 6X potency, no higher.

Purple - I have been here for a lot of years and have never heard such a thing. SO basically, if her counts are above 50k she bleeds? Did she bleed with normal counts before she was diagnosed, because it wouldn't make sense that she would start with symptoms after an ITP diagnosis having safe counts.

It's true that some people are not bleeders with low counts, but they don't bleed at higher counts either. Are you sure it's ITP?

The diagnosis is ITP for the moment, however she's looking to seek treatment in the States and is also interested very much in alternative therapies.

I know that she was diagnosed with ITP after some questionable bleedings started. Then her counts were really low. She was fine following cortisone treatment, and now she bleeds with high counts only...

Someone may correct me on this, but I have been bleeding at counts above 50K (I am now on Nplate and it is working well) it depends on how long it takes to clot. Below 30K I would bleed and bleed etc but now if I bleed it stops within a short time.
