My daughter has been on Promacta since June - gradually increasing the dose. Right before Thanksgiving, her platelets dropped to 6,000. They wanted to increase her Promacta to 75 mg, but couldn't get the medication fast due to the holiday, so back on Prednisone - 50 mg for 4 days they decreasing. Last count 12/8 showed 115,000, but her MCV is low, so she is taking iron. Any ideas what would cause this?
