Can someone tell me if joint pain is related to low platelets?

Hi victoriah,
I never really had joint pain due to ITP, I sure did have due to tapering prednisone though. Are you on any treatment at the moment? It could be due to that if you are.

There is no practice run in life.

Theoretically, there isn't any real reason why joint pain would be a symptom of ITP. I never had joint pain when my counts were low. I did develop it when I started having Lupus symptoms.

Joint pain can be a side effect of some of the treatments, but your daughter hasn't taken any yet, right?

Some people have reported joint pain along with ITP, but I am not so sure it's caused by ITP alone.

Sandi, she is still awaiting her blood smear test to diagnose the cause of low platelets. So hopefully we will know her results next week when she sees her hema again, so no treatment as of yet. she has beeen complaining of constant fatigue and leg pain. She did mention this to the hema but he is unable to give her anything until her results come through. Im trying to think positive but its very difficult. :(

I started getting the worst pain in my hips. My doctor said that the pred is so strong it acts as an anti-inflammatory and when you are tappering off them, it reveals any pain that the pred could have been easing. Prior to having the pred I didn't feel any pain in my hips, but apparently that can happen.

Yes, that does definitely occur.
