Painless bruising was created by Lindy
I used to get unexplained bruising & its usually painless.
Does anyone know why its painless unlike normal bruises? Thanks.

The pain is caused by tissue damage and if the bruising, which is bleeding under the skin, is caused by a minor knock or is spontaneous, then there is no tissue damage to hurt.

Ha - that was how my husband would test my counts. He'd press on the bruise and if I said "ouch", he would know my count was good. Not a very reliable method, but it worked for him.

my kids do that too! How about a freakishly large bump that is slowly bruising and I don't know how it got there? I guess it's a good thing I'm going for a count tomorrow.

Thanks all for your replies.

Most of the time my bruises are painless so I suppose its spontaneous.
I guess its spontaneous due to lower platelet count:unsure:
or could it be spontaneous due to some other reasons?

If counts are low, that would be it. It should correspond.
