I used to visit quite a bit, and received very useful feedback- Thanks to Audi, Sandi and all the others! I used to have terrible bleeding symptoms with my flareups-ugh. Even a mosquito bite would have me running for the bandages to stop the bleeding. Then my count went all the way up to 75 - 95- yay.
but now I've got solid petechia all over my legs from my knees down- but no bleeding. What do you think?? Dr is already talking spleenectomy and that aint gonna happen!

Isn't petechia bleeding under the skin? What is your count?

Good News! Count is 110! WOW! but bad news is, they don't know what is going on w/ all this petechia- found a liver problem, etc etc. Going to hema and gastro to get this straightened out. Good Luck to all and God Bless!

110 & with petechia:huh:

I have unexplained bruising at 90.
Hema don't think is due to low platelet, so I was screened for von Willebrand.
Came back negative.
So I am back to square one of wait & watch.
All the uncertainty.:(

Good luck for your visit to the hema, Tippy.
Hope it get straighten out.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I can usually tell when my count is low so that 110 was no surprse to me.
Except that I've never had one that high before.
I have an appt tomorrow w/ the gastro dr
but can't get into the hema until.. Aug 17<??
So much for the "Stat" designation. LOL
