Hi, my name is Rita. I'm 33 yrs old and I am newly diagnosed with IPT. I am so glad I found this forum. My hematologist has been very imformative but it helps so much to read the stories of real life people dealing with the same problems I am having. This seems like a great group of people!

Welcome Rita, glad you found us, sorry you need us! Yes there's an amazing group of people here and an equally amazing amount of experience and knowledge to share. Ask anything and I'll bet someone here has some experience and knowledge to share. You've found an extended family to share your ITP concerns, questions and anxieties with - we've been there and understand so don't fear asking anything.

You're correct about sharing. It does surely help to realize you're not alone with this disorder. Post often, post anything, share with others - we're all at various stages of ITP from days, weeks, years.

See you around - so to speak

Welcome Rita, I have only been here about 7 or 8 months but you will find that the people on here are the best, there is always someone available to help no matter what time of day you have concerns.
Feel comfortable to let us know your story and any worries you may have, believe me when I say that there is a huge knowledge base and the best support group on this board. I have learnt more here than I could have from ant Dr.

Hi Rita,

Welcome to the site... I have only been on here for about a month or so and these people are fabulous. We all have a common ground which helps because most of the time people dont understand what we are dealing with. Its nice to be able to talk it out and get more info from those that are experience similar things with their bodies.

Have a great day!!!

Thank you for your kind welcomes! I was just officially diagnosed this week. It is kind of scary but after reading on here I feel more comfortable that things will be ok :)

Yes, it will be OK. It is scary at first but it does get easier.
It will be a rollercoaster ride but the ride does get smoother. Post your questions/concerns as it really helps talking to others that have been/are there.

Double agree with Dean, ITP is a roller coaster of emotions from anxiety to relief but my experience suggests it becomes a kiddie coaster after a while. You still have the ups/downs but not as big and you start thinking "I can handle this - no big deal!"

Hi Rita,
We're all here to share our stories. It has been a roller coaster of emotions from anxiety just like Steve mentioned. It does help to share your thoughts and get them out in the open. A lot of people outside of the forum do not always understand what we are going through. Good luck to you.
