Flying while pregnant was created by PARM2
Hi Ladies,

I am currently looking at flying when I am around 25-26 weeks pregnant. Currently I am 19 weeks along and my platelets have been ranging between the 40,00-51,00 mark. Has anyone flown while pregnant with low platelets? The total flight I am looking at is 6.5 hours.

I'd check with your doctor, but your counts seem safe enough.

I went to Portugal in October 2013. My count before I left was 41 and in return was 22. I was trialling a new medicine (for me!) at the time. Had no problems with the flight - it was about 3 hours total.

This pregnancy when my counts were in the high 80's my obstetrician advised me not to fly "just in case" but it was my call.

See what your dr thinks!

Lowest count 1. Highest count 207 (ivig) Indium scan showed predominantly splenic destruction. No meds currently, just seeing how things go.
