Hi I'm Emma and i have had ITP for about 4 months now. But i'm optimistic about the future. If anyone has any ideas for treatment options please let me know. I'm currently on steroids but there not helping. We have tried IGG and the only thing it did was give me a nasty headache the next day:P

Hi Emma, I'm not a teen but there aren't many teens about. You could post in the adult section too and you will get more responses.

What is your platelet count doing? They usually try steroids first but they often don't help or the count falls again when you stop them. There are other things to try and I'm sure your doctor will discuss your options with you. Keep being optimistic as it helps.

Hi I'm heather im almost 19 I've had itp for 2 years now I've had whinrow retux ivig steroids and I'm about to start a 6 month round of chemo there arnt meny options out there my next step after chemo is a spleen ect and if that dosnt work then I'm stuck at a dead end hope that helps

Heather, what is the chemo drug that you are next to have? Have you tried the two newer drugs, Nplate or Promacta?

I'm not sure it's a cocktail of things and I think I tried the n plate but I'm not sure but il look them up and ask my doctor
