Tim's counts and today's oops was created by lucidawn
On Friday Tim was 199k. Since he's had his dental work, I imagine they will let him ride with a lower count now, and less Nplate.

The oops? Well Tim is supposed to get a count within 24 hours of any dentist appointment. He already had his root canal (amazing!), but today he had a cleaning done, which always involveds sharp objects digging under gums! I forgot to get his count this morning  I'm sure he's fine, but the hemonc would hang me if he knew...I just forgot. For a day, he was normal! LOL...I hope :P

We're all normal, just different normal thanks to ITP and its various expressions. :)

You and me both! Putting ITP on the back burner sure is nice while it lasts! I hope these high counts continue for Tim and Caitlin for a really long time! I actually have to take Caitlin back next week because we were just 4 measly platelets too high and if it is still in that range next week, she drops back down to 1 mcg/kg!

It would be so nice to know what caused this turnaround for our kids! Was it Rituxan or is it puberty or just growing out of ITP??? Until we take them off, we will never know!(Caitlin has two more years on the trial.)

Pauline,
I tend to think its the Rituxan. His hemonc said that even if they don't "respond" to the rituxan, it can sometimes make them more responsive to other treatments.

As far as coming off...scary thought, but I wonder at times if Tim was weaned off, would he have a partial remission? He's only on 1mc/kilo weekly and ranges 250k to 150k on that dose. Makes ya wonder...but not in a hurry to find out! Would really freak if they tried it and he crashed, and then they had trouble getting him to respond again...in my nightmares!
