Went to the Hemonc today. Timothy is at...drum roll....150k! Triple digits!

Wow! Fantastic response! Hope he continues to stay above 50 for a while so they don't have to increase his dose! I hope Tim was pleased to hear this count too! :)

Treatments tried: IVIG (doesnt work), Prednisone (sometimes works with high doses), Nplate (2 years on it-worked, but had to be taken off due to...

AMAZING!! Congrats :)) I would be calling the dentist ASAP and getting my son a cleaning :) before sending him out to play tackle football!

Yeah, for the dentist we have to plan way ahead. The hemonc wants to amp him up with steroids, etc, before doing it. I was going to wait and see if he stays up next week because if he crashed right after the wisdom tooth extraction he would bleed a lot. This is the hemonc's major concern.

Wish mine were going in that direction, mine have been 19, 18 the past few weeks and were 11 again yesterday even with the Nplate, so it was another double dose again and 12mg pred just for this week to see if that makes any difference.

NOW WAY -- HOW INCREDIBLE!!!!!

Oh man, I never thought I would see the day when I would read that Tim had a count like that. For so long he was 1 and 2 and now 150. How terrific.

Donna - you probably should have gone out and bought a lottery ticket - I think this is your lucky week.

Hope Tim is feeling okay.

No response with Prednisone, WinRho or Rituximab.
over 60 IVIg infusions (every two weeks)
Three Decadron pulses - count was up while on the Decadron, and then fell as soon as it was stopped. SPLENECTOMY done 7-June-2011 Last count 594
