Well looks like Ryan has dropped again. His last ivig was July 19th 2012, so this was the longest we've gone ... but they are low again none the less. Only at 31,000 but I know his hematologist is going to schedule another treatment.

I'm not going to lie, I'm really disappointed. He is hardly bruising, I'm defintitely shocked to hear they were in the low 30's.

Over the weekend I noticed a swollen lymph node on the back of his head, his neck area. All his other levels came back perfect so they said it isn't related so thats good.

On the positive side, a count of 31 is pretty good nearly two months after IVIG. IVIG doesn't last that long, and thats an OK count if its just caused by Ryan's own system.

I know its not 'normal' but 30 is a pretty good boundary between something you can live with without too much worry and something that is going to cause stupid amounts of change to someones life.

I hope you manage without another lot of IVIG

Okay - this is my third time trying to respond! Hopefully this time it will post :silly:

After digesting the results, I'm no longer all doom and gloom. You are right, Allison...30,000 isn't that low of a number where he needs to live in a giant bubble (just a small one ;) )

His hematologist called today and said we're going to wait to see what they are next week before deciding on another round of ivig. Ryan has some brusies, but really only on his shins, nothing like what he normally has at 30,000 (which is part of why I was so shocked they were that low). He said that maybe they are jumping around so lets wait a week... see where we are and go from there. If they are still in the 30's he said we'll "drag our feet" before getting another treatment :cheer: So maybe... just maybe... we can keep watching and waiting for a few more weeks!
