Any problems w/ roof of mouth expander & braces

Has anyone had any experience with having a roof of mouth expander from an orthodontist? Our orthodontist hasnt found any info on itp and roof expander , let alone braces. I am not concerned with bleeding since my daughter isnt a "bleeder". But our ortho thinks bruising on roof of mouth may be extreme and even thinks there could be some facial bruising under eyes and above cheekbone. Not sure what her counts are right now. We are anxious to get as much work done before school starts. Do we need to play it safe and do a winrho treatment if she proves to be low? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
