Hows everyone doing? was created by alisonp
Just got home from my holidays - what an interesting place Japan turned out to be! Anyway I wondered how everyone was doing?

Dougie's count on 1st July was 12 (very consistent at least!). Liver seems to be recovering from whatever was affecting it, and he has another appointment mid-August to get the tests done for the eltrombopag trial again. I am not holding my breath .........;)

Hi Ali, Wow Japan! That's something. did you get affected by any of the floods? Kids still have school here till next Wednesday. We will probably do a few day trips during the holiday.

Yael just came back from an active long weekend away on Monday night. When I woke her this morning I realised she was covered in bruises again. No pupura though, but still a concern. Called the haematologist but she wasn't in and doctor was only on the morning shift. So have to call to get appointment tomorrow and try the haemo again. I think we need to have another blood test just to check.

Other than that nothing for the past month and her mood was great until she got back from her trip. That was to be expected with the lack of sleep.

Hope all goes well with Dougie

Leat,

Thats the bad thing about ITP, it makes you paranoid about bruising!!! On the one hand, you have to remember that healthy kids would get bruised and tired after an active weekend too, but on the other, ITP can get better and then worse again. For example, my son got a count of 120 something once and everyone was convinced that it was the end of ITP - but that was about two and a half years ago......

I think you are right to get a test to check, if only to put your mind at rest. I really hope its not back for Yael but let us know how it goes please :S

P.s. No I wasn't in the area affected by floods. In fact, the japanese kept asking me how I was finding their rainy season, and I kept on saying that it wasn't a patch on the UK summer to date - I can't believe how wet it has been this summer!

We r getting bloods done tomorrow. Saw our doctor today and he verified we should. So at least I feel better that I'm not the only one who thinks we should.
