Dougie went for a trial today.

Actually, I felt like a bit of a fraud - he was by far and away the most healthy person in the room, and his count was surprisingly high for him at 23. It wasn't a great experience. He fainted when they put the drip in and then continued to have fainting spells until about lunchtime. Then they gave him paracetemol because he had a bad headache and felt sick and he seemed to perk up a lot. We were there for about 7 hours in total.

It must have been unpleasant because he says that if he needs it again to go skiing safely then he would prefer not to go skiing - I am thinking that he will change his mind about this as long as he is feeling better tomorrow morning and also assuming that the stuff actually WORKS. Taking him to get a count at the local hospital on Monday ............so fingers, toes, eyes and everything else firmly crossed!!!!

Ali -

That doesn't sound like fun! How is Dougie feeling now? Brady hates IVIG also and it's a bummer that these kids have to make such choices about fun activities like skiing. Well, I hope the IVIG brought Dougie's counts up this time and he's feeling well.

Let us know what his count is when you go on Monday.
