Question,

My four year old has had ITP for over a year. He bruises when his count goes below 60. Once they are above, all bruises go away and he does not get anymore.
He recently started 6MP with a count below 20. His has been on the 6MP for two weeks and his latest count was NORMAL at 175.
I was super suprised since he still had bruises and was getting more.
It has been four days and he looks like he is below 20 with petechia and bruises.
Anyone had this with a normal count?
He is supossed to go roller skating today and now I am worried he may somehow have dropped really fast or he is still up and just bruising? Would he still be at risk if he is bruising but has high platelets?

I just had Kayla check as she had a very large bruise on her shin that was not healing (still red and growing) and many other miscellaneous bruises and petichiae on her ear, but her count came back at 94k. It is strange but we have to celebrate these high counts and let them be "normal" when they can:-) I hope this calms your nerves a bit. This disorder never seems to follow the rules:-)

My 4 year olds counts have just come back at 247k, amazing but we had her blood drawn because her legs were plastered in bruises and she had rash starting in her ear and under her eyes. Shes had no bruising for weeks and they suddenly came out. plus shes got a few small circle ones in odd places, like bum arms back. but the doctors not concerned at all?? I just dont understand it.
