Question about bruise was created by cjlimes
We had the dreaded stomach flu this weekend. We are all feeling so much better but I was wondering what it was going to do to Hannah's platelets. She was back at school today and wouldn't you guess........she gets pushed on the steps and falls up the steps and hits her leg pretty hard. The fall was bad enough that the teacher pointed it out to me when I picked her up.

She has a bruise on her leg and its pretty dark. Its the size of a quarter. With no other bleeding issues (we even had a dentist visit for a cavity today) would you take her in or just wait until Monday her normal scheduled blood test.

Crazy worried mom as usual,

Christine

This is just my opinion, but i'd probally just wait, unless she gets more symptoms. I am always more concerned about unxplained bruises, bruises that i can't remember doing anything to get it, even someone with a high platelet count could get a bruise like that from a fall like that, so i wouldn't worry to much unless she starts to get more symptoms or starts bleeding unxpectedly.
