My s.i.l. had her gallbladder out and has been having major pain problems ever since (several months). Finally she was sent to a specialist at a teaching hospital and he thinks the problem is SOD (sphincter of oddi dysfunction). There are three kinds and she has one of two of them, they are doing further tests. I'm wondering if anyone here is familiar with this.

The other thing is pretty cool - this doctor is setting up a website for her that will have all her test results and his comments on them and all her doctors can use it and she can access it too. She can also use it to interact with the doctor. Isn't that smart? It sounds more personal and intense than just the online medical records some health plans have.

Oddly, I've heard of that before and can't remember where. I think it was a medical show. I do remember that it's hard to diagnose because it's so unheard of. I'm glad they caught it.

Yeah my school has a website where allo your test results and appointments are listed and you can book appointments on there/ But only short appointments, long ones you have to call. I don't even have to check in when I go to the docs, I just scan my students card. Its also all linked up so the psychologist clinic and health clinic can access the files together and see what the other one is up to with your diagnosis :) Its loverly:) No doctor chat yet though... I don't think at least lol
