Hi,

Just wanted to know if any of you are attending the conference in California?. Since I live not too far from the conference, I've decided to attend just the two-day event. I can drive from my home. If you are, please post as I would surely like to meet some of you.

I just decided before the deadline and price went up!! I've been dealing with a "frozen" shoulder since having rotator cuff surgery and am finally starting to see some progress. I wouldn't wish this disorder on anyone!! My physical therapist seems to think it could be related to my ITP; it was actually worse than the surgery!!

I was thinking about it but too much hassle. First I need a passport than I have to book time off of work than request vacation pay. lol Not sure my credit card would take a booking. (i'm a shopaholic!)

That said the doctor that ran the study I was a part of is speaking there! For that reason alone I really do want to attend!

Winnifred,

That would be great if you do decide to come. I attended the one in Colorado a couple of years ago. This one is so close, I figured I might as well go!

Is the doctor from Canada Dr. Donald M. Arnold? I noticed him on the speaker's list. They also have the Canadian patient advocacy meeting on Friday.

If you do attend, let me know and so we can meet up. I will be there by myself.

Dr. Arnold nice young doctor! Good on the eyes! lol But yes he was the doctor I saw for the Rituximab study I was in.

I found him very easy going and talk too you not at you! The only doctor I have met that was glad I still had my spleen! (you had to have it for the study!)

I still have my official lab rat t-shirt I made when i did the study. He signed it for me. I was supposed to make him one but never did not sure why.

The advocacy meeting would interesting for me not only as a patient but the fact that I am a nurse as well!

I saw Dr. Howard Liebman for a new medication study (similar to Rituximab) about 4 years ago. I was qualified to be in the study--but then my platelets went up on their own to 33,000 and this alone disqualified me!

I wanted to talk to Dr. Liebman when I was in Colorado, but he wasn't as approachable at the conference so I never did find out how the study turned out. I did get to talk to Dr. Brussels at the conference and he gave me some very good advise.

There was another Canadian doctor at the conference who sat at our table during lunch--and I will have to say that he was so very nice!!

My uncle called today to see if I wanted to stay with him and go to conference. I'm debating since I went last year but will keep you updated. I really enjoyed it last year and gained a lot of knowledge.
