Had a nice day yesterday. Lovely autumn weather, we had lunch with some of our family. Daughter had made sour dough bread rolls & pumpkin soup, a beef casserole with mashed potatoes, & I contributed a rhubarb/apple crumble. We sat outside in the sunshine at their farm house.
The whole family spoiled me with a gift voucher for the local garden nursery.
We visited my mum's grave & acknowledged that our daughters & daughter-in-law are wonderful mothers also.

Happy Mother's Day where ever & how ever you spend it.

mj it sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day - isn't it great being surrounded by family?! I too had a great Mother's day - we actually started celebrating on Saturday at our younger son's, his wife is a nurse and works the night shift and Sunday is one of her shifts. Then yesterday we celebrated with older son. Can't beat being with your children and grandchildren!

And below you will see what Mother Nature gave us as a Mother's Day gift - snow started early in the morning and it is still snowing this morning - actually snowing harder right now. The photo is taken from my computer room window. It is spring here and not winter - this just isn't funny! Oh my gosh, just looked out the window by my computer and I can't see, the wind is blowing and creating a white-out for a few minutes!

That is gorgeous! I know it is supposed to be SPRING but wow, what a view! It must be very pretty during summer. I love trees & miss them in my new garden. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Melinda. We had snow as well and the day before I was in a T shirt working in the garden.Perhaps we do get our snow from CO. My CO relatives say they get the snow from Alberta!!!!!!

mj the reason we bought this house is the backyard - beyond our yard is a dry creek [unless the snow or rain runoff is a lot] and lots of wildlife, hummingbirds & raptors. There is a road on the other side of the open area but that's ok, it doesn't stop the wildlife.

It is a pretty sight but oh I'm so tired of winter and want to plant flowers - they are now hibernating in the garage where I moved them once the snow forecast was real - usually it is Mother's Day weekend we can plant as supposedly after that we don't get a hard frost. I need dirt therapy!

Christine you had snow too - is that unusual for you at this time of year? Oh we always blame Canada for any and all arctic fronts or really cold weather we get - see, try as we might we just can't send it back to Alberta ;)

Haven't had more snow since Mother's Day - but now having storms with hail and funnel clouds. One extreme to the other. Next week should be nice, "they" say.

My mothers day consisted of me going to church getting a carnation. Than me and the kids went to dinner at an all you can eat buffet where I received another carnation. Than to the movies and watched a movie that I really disliked!

Weather here has been rain rain rain rain. This past weekend we went camping and the weather was great but the ground was so wet from all the rain that we had to wear our rubber boots the entire weekend! I was mud from the knees down and black under my nails (no matter how much I washed my hands I was never able to clean under my nails UGH)!
