I'm fairly sure this isn't itp related as my numbers have been holding steady above 200 since my splenectomy last year, but I thought I would throw this out to the community to see if there were any other thoughts on it. About once a month for the past 3 months or so I've had a day where I just can't get out of bed when my alarm goes off, and end up sleeping at least 12 hours or more. Last night I think I slept 14 and 1/2 hours! I have a pretty regular schedule and get around 7 1/2 hours normally, get up at the same time every morning. I usually can't sleep past about 7 am.

For whatever reason your body just must have needed that extra rest. I'm a little jealous. You seem to have no problem getting rest. I wake up constantly throughout the night. The weird thing is, I always wake up between 3:00-3:30 a.m. Last night was the first night that I actually slept past this time and woke up because Verizon was doing an update on my husbands cellphone and it was beeping. This of course woke me up and I looked at the clock at it was 3:39 a.m.

Yeah, it would be great if it didn't happen on a work day. My boss is pretty understanding, but I feel really bad, especially when co-workers ask why I was gone.
