Taking Control! was created by va_n_ok
Almost a year ago (last June) I decided I wanted to lose weight (okay longer than that I made the decision, but it was then I actual put a good amount of action with it). I began (never completed) a program to train for a 5k. I lost a little weight, but a few months ago I did a 6 week boot camp and since the start of it all (June) I lost apx. 25lbs. I fell of the wagon after the boot camp (I have food obsession) which was around Thanksgiving, but thankfully was at least able to maintain my weight without much effort. I was about to try and fulfill a life long dream to play soccer when I was diagnosed with ITP in Feb and advised against it. (It probably saved me a lot of embarrasement. :) ) It has been almost two months since I have been diagnosed and I thank God that even with the prednisone I have been pretty steady, agian without much effort. (Seriously not "bragging" just saying I have not been motivated at all....that type of no effort.) I made a promise to myself while I was in the hospital that I was going to get on a workout routine and healthy, filling diet in order to not lose it all while on the meds. That did not stick long. I have gone from a stricked, same thing everyday diet that I made up, to eating everything and anything, even if I am not hungry. And not workout routine. At the begining of the week I weighed and have gained apx. 4lbs., but worse my weight has shifted (I am assuming) because my pants are getting tighter again. I do not want to lose the progress I made. Plus it is getting summer time, I need some confidence lol. I can't go to another boot camp right now, but I need something that I can/will be successul at to at least say I'm working on not getting out of control.

ALL THAT, to ask, 1. any suggestions, advice, or anything! 2. What do you like to do to "stay in shape", and 3. Any stories to share.

Thank you! Lovin PDSA!
