Watch this - a must see!! was created by Melinda
This is fantastic! It will give a very short commercial every now and then but it's worth it because watching the eagles and the eaglets is such an experience. One more egg to hatch. Right now mama is sleeping with her beak tucked in her wing.

I hope that at least some of you who have looked at my post have gone to the site and watched the eagles taking care of their eaglets!! The 3rd egg just hatched recently as the eaglet can't yet hold its head up.

Anyway - hope someone has enjoyed the site.

I had been following the eagles but didn't get to see the last egg hatch.

Oh good - glad someone is watching, it is just so fascinating! I'm on the computer a lot since I transcribe records for a genealogical society so I have the eagles open in a tab all day and can go see them when I want. When both parents are on the nest it makes you realize how big that thing is. When I was going to bed last night I checked them before turning the computer off - the little ones were active and Mama wasn't getting much sleep, this was 11.30pm their time [Central Time, not sure if they are on Daylight Saving Time or not].

I've seen a parent [mom? dad?] build up the nest around his/her body while lying there, using their beak to pull nest material up close, and I think it is to make a "fence" to keep the little ones from straying too far and falling out.
