I was reading a few different articles about ITP and Rituxan and the response rate. I am curious...when do you say it is Week 1, 2, 3, 4...12? Is week 1 the first day of your infusion or is it one week later (the day of your 2nd infusion)? She got her first infusion on Feb. 24th and finished treatment on March 10th. So next week, I am assuming we will be getting her counts at week 5??? Is that how it works? I am noticing there are alot of jumps between weeks 6-8 so I think we have about 3, maybe 4 more weeks of waiting to go before knowing whether the response will be partial, complete, or no response at all. I asked my dr about those people who have responses around 6 months later, and she said in children, if that happens...she believes it would have happened with or without Rituxan.
By the way...Caitlin is doing good. Got over her serum sickness but she is complaining off and on about "burning" skin~just out of the blue, nothing particular happened before or during this. I thought maybe it was dry skin so I had her put lotion on, but it didn't really help. (It's not continuous...just an off and on complaint these last few days.) She also had a bad headache for 3 days earlier this week, but it is gone. On the plus side, she did some tumbling last night and hasn't really done that in a while; still has all her skills and she didn't get a single bruise. Noone believes me that she was really sick and couldn't move just two weeks ago!
