you know I've been on a leave of absence for a month now and I'm just about to go crazy! So many doctor appointments and tests and being tired and cooking and cleaning. But believe it or not....I'm getting bored!
What kind of hobbies to you all have? What web sites do you visit most? Thank kind of thing. I'd love some new ideas!

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Photography. I am a poster on SmugMug. I have a hard time fitting it in but I am making it a personal challenge to post one photo a day for a year. My way to stay creative and improve my skills.

I "do" genealogy - I received a birth certificate today and managed to take my husband's family back another two generations. My own family I have managed to go back to the 1600s. It all started when I googled my grandfathers name and then checked images and it has spread from there. I use the LDS site quite a bit, also the various Parish register sites from England - it all gives a wonderful sense of belonging.
Now spring and summer are almost here I will be in the garden - it is wonderful to now have the time to do these things.
Of course my ne favourite hobby is taking pics of my little grandson (now 7mths and has to be the cutest baby!!!) :) :) :)

I do genealogy too. Plus I transcribe for a genealogical society. And I take a tap dance class - and I walk the indoor track [not too hot, not too cold, rubberized track so doesn't hurt back, and it's flat]. There is so much to do, I do just about anything so I don't have to clean, there's more to life than cleaning :)

Christine our granddaughter will be a year old next month - she's such a love!

I do mainly agiligy/flyball with my dog. We train once a week with an instructor and alot of extra training at home. It gives me something to do and I get to see improvement in my dog. I also do alot of scrapbooking. With my sister just having a baby that kept me pretty busy. I did about 2 albums for her in 2 months but was way ready to go back to work after 8 weeks.

SmugMgu? Never heard of it. Can I look at your pics? I like taking pics too. Not all that good at it though! My oldest daughter is. She have some on a site called Deviant Art. She hasn't messed with it in awhile though. I've always wanted to get into genealogy too. My husband is distantly related to the Hatfields, from the Hatfield/McCoy family fueds. But, man that is very time consuming isn't it? Maybe someday. Back to the 1600's! wow! that's cool!
I'm getting ready for my garden too. Can't wait! I've never heard of agiligy/flyball with a dog! Is it like playing frisbee? And I absolutely love scrapbooking. I don't have much space in my house though so by the time I get everything out and get started...it's time to put it up! I try though!

:) your beautiful! And very good at taking pics too! Thank you for sharing, it made me smile. I love the glass ornaments pic. Do you do this just for fun or are you making a living at it?

I wish I did it for a living! I have done senior pictures for money, but not enough to live on. Thanks!

I am a paralegal in real life. Not as fun.

I do a lot of reading and counted cross stitching. I also do volunteer work at my church weekday preschool. I bake sour-dough bread to share with shut-ins and neighbors.
Keeping busy helps.

paralegal huh...good job!
I like cross stitch too, just can't seem to get the hang of it. I've tried and just don't understand how it works. Sometimes I'm kind of thick headed! I like the baking for shut-ins. Now that's something I could do. I notice at the oncology dept there is a woman who makes signs with inspiring words on them. Encouraging quotes for the cancer patients to read while they are there. She puts a lot of time into it. I think that's something I would like to do. It can get pretty boring just sitting there with nothing to look at. I'd like to encourage people through their troubles. They have people who make quilts too so pretty. And they warm them up. It feels good while your sitting there for what seems like ever!

Steven and I are both ham radio operators, so we like to get out and operate from lighthouses; I also play radio from home while he's at work. I like to do plastic canvas and love to read. I also try writing.

Calligraphy - Gretchen do you think you'd like that? It's fun. I took a class years ago - used to do sayings on wood plaques, invitations and the like. Then had kids and didn't have the time.

I like counted cross stitch and plastic canvas - but my cat does too so I can't do it any more with her going after the yarn.

I have a friend who crochets on the top of socks for kids in the cancer ward of a hospital - they are bright & cheery and the girls love them.

Ham radio operators would be very interesting I would think.
