Weaning off Prednisone, finally! :)

My dr was not too keen on me weaning of Prednisone, but I had to convince her because of my side effects. I have been gaining alot of weight over the summer (I am now at my highest weight ever!) despite exercise and watching what I eat. (I do the calorie tracker daily and log everything I eat.) My glucose levels have really gone up alot too and I told my dr that I really did not want to end up diabetic and I felt like this would be worse than having kidney problems. My dr finally agreed, but upped my dose of Cellcept (3500 now) and put me on a acid blocker because I have been having pain under my left breast. I don't know how that can translate to acid reflux or heartburn, but she said many people experience it different ways and the pain I described is one of them. I've been on the acid blocker now one week and the pain seems to be getting worse, not better. I just put in a call to my primary dr and they don't seem to be concerned either and I go in for a physical next month so will address it then. As for the Prednisone, I started at 40 mg, then was down to 20 mg every other day (was at that dose since April) and now I am on 10 mg every other day for 2 weeks then I am DONE~three more pills to go! :) The strange thing though, is that even though my weight is at my highest, my size in clothes has decreased so maybe the pounds will shed eventually! I can only hope!
