ANZAC DAY was created by milly
Today in Australia and New Zealand it is ANZAC Day, a national day that we celebrate and remember those that have given their lives and those that have gone to battle to make both New Zealand and Australia the wonderful free countries we have today. Had a memorable service this morning to remember these brave men and women and pray for a safe return of our men and women that are still in service.

Lest we forget.

My Grandfather Thomas was one of those who fought in Galipolli. He
was an original ANZAC soldier. He was awarded the Military medal for remaining calm under fire and re-establishing radio contact after attack. I proudly remember my Tommy, and all the others who fought for the freedom we often take for granted today.

Lest we forget.

I am late in saying this as i was away, but Lest We forget. My cousin's husband is in the Army at the moment and i have had other distant family in the past who were Anzac's so the meaning of the day seems to bring it home for me all the more. We watched the march where we were and it was so sad to see so few elder Anzac's marching now. Now is the time for the younger generation to step up and to keep the tradition of Anzac day alive for all those brave men and women who have and are currently fighting for our countries.
