Hi Jeff. Nice to meet you! Thanks for doing such a great job. If one wishes to know how many posts he/she has made, is there/will there a way to do that?

Hello Cindy. I hope this helps - what I did to enable you to see the total number of posts that you have made is the following:

1. I added the total number of posts to the left side column in the Discussion Group. That is public for everyone to see.

2. I removed the "ranking" (Fresh Boarder, Gold Boarder, etc.) from public view.

3. I added User Statistics for the Discussion Group to everyone's PROFILE. How you get there is:
- Go to www.pdsa.org
- Login on the home page
- Click "Your Profile" in the "Web site Member Menu" on the left side.
- If you scroll down a bit you will see a "Forum" tab on your profile. Inside that tab you will now find that number of total posts as well as a list of all of the posts you have ever made. It will display 10 posts per page. You can also Search for keywords in those posts.
- As an alternative, you can also get to your profile from the Discussion Group simply by clicking on your "Avatar" - that's your image near the top-left.

NOTE - There was no way for me to display a user's total number of posts ONLY inside their Profile, without also showing it in the public Discussion Group as well. But at least I could remove the "Ranking" from public view.

Thank you, Jeff Cooper

Yes it is. I do television production work as well and occasionally I get a good gig where I get to work with some actor-types. It's not considered "professional" to ask for photos with them or autographs when you are part of the crew, so I just stuck my head in there quick and had someone snap a quick picture. B)

If their profile is updated with location info it'll show under their name in the left column via the "house" icon. Just hover over it for their location.

My Mrs Potato head profile picture has GONE!!! and reverted back to my previous one :( !!

Did anyone else find they could not view the PDSA site today? I just kept getting a message of failure to do a whole lot of of stuff that I did not know it meant.

The datacenter where the PDSA website server encountered an unforeseen power outage on Monday. PDSA.org was offline for a short time. When power was restored the website may have reverted to a previously backed-up version. That is likely why the change to your profile image happened. Sorry for the inconvenience. Problems like this are rare but can be frustrating to deal with sometimes.

Thank you, Jeff Cooper

I thought I'd finally said something that got me kicked off. It took me quite a few times of putting in my name and password before I was finally logged in. That happened the other night too.

Is this a problem or just for me?

Today (Thursday), I've had to log in with my user name and password, every time I come on. It used to keep me logged in all the time, when I checked the little box. When I'm not logged in, I can't tell which posts are new, and which I've already read. Hope that can be straightened out.

And, I'm still hoping the light blue type can be darkened up and/or enlarged slightly, so I'm not straining to see what it says. (particularly where it lists the latest post, and the poster's name).

TIA
April

I'm not sure what happened here. I would recommend first logging-in on the home page of the web site and then going to the discussion group. That seems to work the best.

(1) We performed some upgrades to both the web site software and the discussion group software. It set the "session lifetime" back to a lower number. That means the web site would automatically log you off after 90 minutes. I now set this to 24 hours. It really can't be set higher than that for security and other web site performance reasons.

(2) I will try to darken the blue color and make that text larger. It will require some time on my end as it is not a simple setting to locate and change.

As far as text size in general, if you are on a PC computer it may help you to press the "Ctrl" and "+" buttons at the same time. It will zoom-in for you, making things larger. Then you can press "Ctrl" and "-" to zoom-out or "Ctrl" and "0" to reset it back to normal.

I hope that is of some help to you. - Jeff

When I looked at that, it said TOTAL MESSAGES were 11,000+, but users online were 1,000+. That's still a lot...not really believing that.

Ok someone - what does this mean?

In total there are 10206 users Online :: 82 Members and 10124 Guests

Are there really 10,124 guests at this site right now??

Can we sticky a thread to our wonderful webguy Jeff - with that being the name of the thread. To Web Guy Jeff

Then he will know it is for him and people will know where to ask questions of him. The name of this thread really doesn't imply that.

I have another question - something is missing. When I start a new thread or make a reply the Preview button is missing. Unless I just don't see it.
