severe clotting problems after spleen removal

Although the system says I am a new member, I have been a member for some time. Just could not log in and had to re register.

My daughter has chronic ITP. Three years ago she had her spleen removed and almost immediately began to clot in the portal vein, to the extent she has required numerous IVR interventions to no avail. The IVR team says they can't do anything more for her.
We are at a crossroads where a venous bypass looks like it may happen some time this week. We are very afraid of this in that it may cause problems in the good leg. But she can't live the way she is now, something has to be done, or she may end up loosing the leg.

Please anyone with any advice or experience with this problem. If nothing else anyone who might suggest the top vascular DR with experience in a venous bypass.
