Yes she is. Purebred chocolate lab. She will join our other half-chocolate lab. I have a thing for brown dogs.

Oh my gosh, she is just beautiful. I have been dropping not so subtle hints to my husband on what a great present a lab would be for Christmas but I think it is falling on deaf ears. Do you have a name for her?

Sandi -

SUCH a cute puppy! I like the Snickers name - when we got our golden retriever 7 years ago, she was from a litter of 11 puppies. The people we got her from named all the girl puppies after candy bars - ours was Almond Joy - and all the boy puppies after Simpson characters. Brady really wanted to get "Homer" but we wanted a girl. Homer went on to be extremely rambunctious and we ended up with Almond Joy,the sweetest, gentlest dog ever. We let the kids pick the name, though, so they changed it to Kelsey. But I still like the candy bar names too!

Good luck!

hehehehehehehe - my husband is 1/2 polish and always uses polish names because he says he doesn't want to be standing on the front porch calling a dogs name and have some person turn their head  "Stosh" was his first lab (Stanley). I like the candy bar themes. Our chickens are theme named for Ice Age, Star Wars, Star Trek, and soda pop (pepsi, coke, shasta, etc.). 4 from each group. I like Snickers. :)

The Polish names are a great idea! I have been embarrassed before, when I've been out on a walk and run in to a human Kelsey. Oh well... We named our first Golden "Meagan" and I can't even remember why. We didn't have kids then, so that was all my husband and me.

My husband is 1/2 Polish too, but doesn't mention polish names. "Stush" is cute. I think this one is going to be "Bailey"...it's getting the most family votes. It's not really a candy bar - more of a drink. The guys nixed "Tootsie Roll" for the reason Patty mentioned. They don't want to be in the yard yelling Tootsie and having the neighbor women think he's talking about them. I think it's cute but I'm just silly.

Our late dog was Shelby (put to sleep in June). We almost named her "Kelsey" at the time, but my daughter had a friend by that name.

I work with an attorney occasionally who is 92 years old, still practicing law and cute as can be. Her name is Miss Bailey, so I might register the dog as that formally, but just call her "Bailey".

Yeah, when I read that Tootsie Roll was in the running, I thought, Poor puppy! Bailey's a nice name; so is Hershey.

When I lived at home, we had a chocolate lab named Hershey come visit us, usually late at night. He'd escape from home, roam around then end up at our door. We'd keep him over night, then call his owners who would come pick him up.

They are so adorable! Love that your older one is allowing the baby to sleep by her! I love big dogs so we have Goldens. Murphy got quite a few toys for Christmas and we had him open all of his own gifts. He has been happy since the day the tree went up waiting patiently for his new toys! We finally let him open one Christmas eve and my entire family got a kick out of watching him open his gift and proudly show it to everyone! :)

Snickers is adjusting well to the new addition. She plays with Bailey but there are times when she doesn't want to be bothered. I'm the same way so I don't blame her a bit!

Aww, too cute, Sandi! Bailey's so adorable, and Snickers looks like she's just taking it all in stride. I don't think we'll get another dog after Sasha for a while. I wouldn't mind getting one, but she's just too old to have to deal with a puppy.

Enjoy your new addition and keep the pictures coming!

This is amazing - Bailey is partially house trained already. She came that way. The breeders worked on it with the puppies and she actually goes to the door and cries when she has to go out. She is also learning 'sit' already. Smart dog!

My friend has a bell hanging from the door know - she taught her Boxer to ring the bell when she has to go outside. So if my friend doesn't see her at the door she will hear her at the door. Thought that was a great idea!

What a good idea! Wish we had done something like that with Sasha. She paws at me in the morning if I"m not up at a certain time. During the day, she'll whine or cry or sit in front of the door.

Today we left my new guy Reggie alone for 90 minutes - now I need a new front door! He tore up the whole base of the door. It was an old door and we needed a new one anyway but now we need a new one soon! He's perfectly calm now that I'm home again.

Sigh.
