Fundraising and Donations

How are walk registrations and donations used to help the ITP community?
Every dollar makes a difference! Your contribution helps fund PDSA research and programs for the entire ITP community.

Who should I make a check out to?
Checks can be made out to: Platelet Disorder Support Association. Please make sure to indicate which location you are supporting in the memo section. Once your gift has been received by PDSA, a tax receipt will be mailed or emailed to you. Please send your email address if you would like to receive your receipt this way.

What do I do if a check is made out to me personally?
If a contribution check has been written out to you personally, please deposit this check into your account and issue a check from your account to PDSA. Please include details on the donor so they can receive the proper credit and receipt.

Where do I mail donation checks?
Donations can be mailed to:
Platelet Disorder Support Association
Attn: Pump It Up For Platelets!
8751 Brecksville Road, Suite 150
Cleveland, OH 44141

What if I have a cash donation?
We don’t advise putting cash in the mail. We suggest you deposit any cash donations you receive into your checking account and send a personal check to PDSA. Please include details on the donor so they can receive the proper credit and receipt. Please do not send cash donations, if possible.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes! All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

A donor is requesting a Tax ID number; what is that and how do I get that?
A Tax ID number identifies PDSA as a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization. Many donors will request this number to validate their donation as tax-deductible. The Platelet Disorder Support Association’s Tax ID number is 22-3611011.

Will checks and cash donations be added to my individual donation page?
Yes! Once checks or cash donations are received to the PDSA office, they will be added to the proper donation page(s).

How can my company match my donation?
