Best count in long time was created by CindyL
I had my latest counts done today, and they are at 54! :cheer: The only down side to this count is that the last treatment I had was just 3 weeks ago. :( My next count is at the end of Feb. Hopefully there won't be much change!

That's great, Cindy. You get counts done on Sundays? It would be nice if we could do that here in the States.

Tamar, I go to the IV Day Hospital, which is a specialty clinic; there is also a blood lab that is strictly for regular blood tests.

I started going on Sundays because I don't like to drive in the winter and Steven doesn't work Sunday's, so he drives me.

Do you mind me asking what kinds of treatments you have tried and what the result was? What is your current treatment?

I'm a newbie here, so I can share in the "best count" excitement!

I had splenectomy Jan 21, and just had my first blood draw post-op on Wednesday. WOW!! :woohoo: I couldn't believe my eyes... after years of platelet counts in the 50's and 60's, my hematologist walks in the exam room and announces:

437

I look forward to meeting you here on the forums.

Yeah. I was in remission for 8 years following a splenectomy, but my friend has been for 19 years. So hopefully you are done with ITP.

I don't think anyone can ever say they are done with ITP. Everyone is different, and it's good to stay vigilant. Be optimistic, but keep it on the back burner.
