Just wanted to let you all know my little boy arrived safe and sound after a 30 minute labour on 06/03/10. During pregnancy my platelets got as low as 13 000, but were 120 000 at delivery thanks to taking prednisolone. I have a history of fast labours, no.1 3 1/2 hrs, no.2 1hr 15 min and this one 30 minutes. Definitely my best birth, no pain relief, feeling great except for the fact I've being awake all night! Baby is sleeping, stupid steroids.
Bubs was 6 pound 6 ounces, induced at 38 weeks, due to high blood pressure. His platelets have been fine so far, getting checked again today. He was so worth it.
Diagnosed with ITP in 1983, lupus in 1990, APS in 2001, vasculitis in 2006. Current platelet count 148. In 2007 I had a stem cell transplant for autoimmune disease and currently ITP and APS remission, with a reduction in lupus activity.
Thank you received: 0
Congratulations on the birth of your son. Good for you, only 30 minutes of labor. Can't ask for too much shorter then that.
oh congratulations on the birth of your son. what's his name? thanks for posting too, I'm a little worried about ITP affects on pregnancy, your post makes me a little less nervous about having children in the future.
