Anyone gotten pregnant or know of someone who has while on N-Plate? There are'nt many studies out there and I am a newlywed who can't be on contraceptives (God and his little ironies). It's actually my doctor that wants to take me off it because she is worried I WILL get pregnant (because all newlyweds are rabbits apparently) but it is the only thing that has worked so far and there really aren't studies that do prove birth defects (although obviously I do not want to get pregnant on this stuff and will immediately discontinue the shots if we have a happy accident).

this is one of the reasons i opted not to use this treatment. I knew I wanted kids but this drug is so new we have no idea how long it stays in your body. How it will effect an unborn baby. None of that. Personally it was not a risk I was willing to take. There are non hormonal birth control you can you. IUD in non hormonal, I will not do hormonal birth control again. Have you tried other treatment options?

Well what are your counts at??? Are they dangerously low?? My Doctor would say anything at 50k and up is safe... And there's very effective treatment during pregnancy. I am having my third (newlyweds aren't rabbits, it comes a little later ; ) )... anyhow - ITP has been managed perfectly so far. A little scary, sure, but under control...
