I saw my OB Monday (I'm 34 weeks) no c-section date has been scheduled yet but baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead (maybe from the Prednisone). I am hoping he comes a little early because I am really getting tired and uncomfortable now. He looks great in ultrasound.
I saw my hematologist yesterday and we discussed my plans for delivery. I told her I REALLY do not want to deliver under general anesthesia. The IVIg infusions I have been getting every Friday don't seem to be doing a whole lot for my counts. They have gone down each week for the last 3 weeks from 83,000 to 59,000 and this week 38,000 (my lowest count was in Feb after diagnosis I was at 3,000 so these numbers are better but under the circumstances, clearly not enough...). Its very discouraging. I need to be somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 or better for a spinal. I discussed my concern with hema and she things increasing the frequency of my IVIg to 2x a week will be beneficial.
My math is 34 weeks measuring 3 weeks ahead...puts me at about 37 weeks...baby could come anytime. I really hope they can get my numbers up soon.
Also, I have completely weened off the Prednisone now. Hema says once I get my date scheduled for c-section to call her office and they will order a heavy dose of IVIg just before delivery. I'm getting really sick of all these appointments. Literally today is the ONLY day this week that I don't have an appointment. Its too much. My whole body hurts.
Back to OB tomorrow for non-stress test and Friday IVIg infusion...my poor 2 year old is always being hauled off to one sitter or another. I'm just done with being pregnant...
sorry to vent. :(

Its ok...I know how you feel! Just think your almost done. I got transfused when I went into labor. My hema and OB both knew that it has a very short shelf life--about 3 hrs but it got me high enough to get the epidural....so that may be an option pump you up get the spinal in and your good to go. I ended up going under anyway...and it wasnt as bad as I thought. I was worried I wouldnt bond with the baby.

I know how it feels with all the appointments. I told my hema he should give me a parking card for the structure since I was there so much and it was costing me a fortune in parking! Just take it one day at a time and try to take a bath if you can. It will ease some of the back pressure and the swelling.

Just remember your almost done...I wonder why the end is so hard. But think in the end you get this beautiful little baby to hold and love. So take a deep breath and feel better.

Im doing good, tired but thats expected. Counts dropped down to 60ish...my normal well a little higher then my normal.

The baby is congested. Spoke to the nurse today and she thinks it may be the wierd weather we are having hot 100 degree weather to cold and misty overnight. So I have to keep him in the room with a humidifier on and not lay him flat on his back. Other then that hes a good baby. Growing and getting bigger hard to believe hes already almost 3 weeks old.

Hang in there. Your almost done (I know its easier to say then to do)
