Yesterday was suppose to be my last day of work before starting maternity leave. Well I went in for my weekly ob and hema appts. And OB said everything looked great. Headed across the parking lot for blood work and to see my hema and he walks in and tells me your being admitted today. I was in shock. I cant be I have to get to work to tie up a few last things. He looks at me disappointed, and I tell him Im scheduled for IVIG on monday cant it wait. His response was NO, please go over there now you have a bed. *Sigh* So I head over and get my IV started, and wait and wait and wait. The nurses arent sure what to do with me since im 36 weeks pregnant. So before they do anything they are calling Labor and Delivery, or my OB. Took forever to get the IVIG ready I was there at 10 and did start till almost 2. So they finally get ready to start my infussion and I found out Im not getting premeds just a really HUGE dose of steriods. I wanted to avoid steriods at all costs. But Im home, baby is well and I return monday for more bloodwork. Its been such a long day for me, and I have yet to finish moving.

You got steroids and IVIG? Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Steroids are pre-meds....

That was a really bad day, Jen. Hopefully, it only gets better from here. Once you're done working, you'll have more time for everything else. Hang in there!

Usually I get tyenol and benedryl along with a small dose of steriods 10mg of sodium medrol. I got 100mg of sodium medrol. I had a great energy boost but Id rather not take anymore. Just want my little boy to be born healthy.

Jennifer, sounds like a terrible day. But you know you are in good hands and the work at your desk will have to wait. Here's to healthy babies for all of us!!
