It just says "My" for some reason. Same as no replies just says "No".

At the top of the page under the strip of photos I see these tabs:
Index

Ann - up at the very top of the screen where the URL is for the site you are looking at - by the refresh thing do you have something that looks like a page torn in 1/2?

I do and if I put my mouse over it these words come up: Compatibility View
For some websites if I click on that the page fits better & no words missing.

Yes I tried that just after I posted and found that it works. To tell the truth I've never noticed those buttons for My Topics and so on before. I have therefore never used them.

Are the posts backwards for all of you? Did things suddenly get colorful?

Yes, something is definatly messing with the site. Posts are backwards, latest posts are appearing on the left in a purple box. The whole page appears to be narrower on my end.

Oh yes, I noticed someone had added things the other day when a little flag appeared by some threads. Apparently those are threads that I had posted in. I thought it was unnecessary clutter, but today having the posts all the wrong way round is more bother than that. It really needs correcting.

This is Jeff Cooper, the PDSA web guy. I apologize to everyone for the technical issues with the discussion group lately.

The short version is that the website software and discussion group software NEEDED to be updated for security purposes. Unfortunately those updates sometimes cause unforeseen and difficult to troubleshoot issues. That is what happened here.

I restored the menu items to the top of the forum (Index, Recent Topics, etc.).

I also changed the order of the posts to "Oldest First" instead of newest first. If you do not like that you are able to customize that functionality in your user PROFILE by editing your forum settings in your profile.

Please report any more issues to me, such as logging-in, staying logged-in and posting problems. I will work on them right away.

You can email me at webmaster@pdsa.org or post to this forum topic.

Thank you, Jeff Cooper

Jeff:

I've noticed that if I use the "Quick Reply", I lose the post. If I use the "Reply", it stays. It happened that way twice. Could be coincidence, but if not, maybe that is useful information?

If you hit REFRESH in your browser (F5) you should see that I made the "Quick Reply" button HIDDEN. Please let me know if that helps.

Where is the option to change forum settings? I don't see it in my profile.

I also don't like that the quick reply button has gone because I find the forum so slow that hitting the normal reply has me wait several minutes to get anywhere.

To change the personal preferences for the forum:
> Log-in

> Go to your Profile. You can do that by clicking on your name next to the "Welcome ____" near the top.

> Click on the "EDIT" - then "UPDATE YOUR PROFILE" link near the top.

> Click on the "FORUM" tab. In there you will see options for "Message Ordering", "Preferred Viewtype" and "Your Board Signature". The signature is what shows up underneath your posts on every post - this can be your name, username or anything else you would like.

> Click on the "UPDATE" button at the bottom to save your preferences.

I had a report the the "QUICK REPLY" button was not working properly. That is why I removed it. There is no technical reason whey the "REPLY" function should take longer to load than the "QUICK REPLY" function. I have to wonder if that issue you are having is related to your Internet connection?

Since there are so many other options of replying to a post ("REPLY, REPLY TOPIC, QUOTE") I would like to keep the "QUICK REPLY" button hidden if possible. Please let me know if these other reply functions are working OK for you.

If anyone else has input regarding the "QUICK REPLY" button, I would love to hear it. It is best for me to make changes to the forum based on a consensus from users, since everyone has different experiences with how the forum works for them, due to different computers, Internet browsers, connections, etc.

Thank you, Jeff Cooper

Thank you Jeff the screen looks great!

I had no trouble when clicking on "Reply", it popped right up so you can keep that Quick Reply hidden in my opinion.

Edited to add - it is taking forever for the photo strip to show up when I come to the site. The site shows up with everything but the photo strip and just now it took over 20 seconds for the photo strip to appear.

The site has always been slow for me since it opened. And I've lived at two different addresses in that time. I now have a very fast connection for everywhere except for this site. Sometimes when I come here it won't load at all and I have to leave it and come back another time.
