Just wanted to let you know that if your hospital is doing this for their cancer patients, they are opening this up for hematology effective Dec. 1st!! :) GREAT program...take advantage of it if your hospital has it! It is one of the most cherished things I have of Caitlin's journey with ITP!

My daughter was the first Hematology patient at Children's Denver to be included in this program a couple years ago. She is up to (3) full strands of beads (which is 6 years worth of ITP). It is an amazing program where kids get to actually visually see the treatments, blood draws and Dr.'s appointments that she has been through. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Hope this works...here is a pic of Caitlin at a recent competition with her beads. She doesn't have a whole lot because we don't get them for every blood draw. Plus she just started this last year.

 I would love to do this for my son but his hospital doesn't participate in the program...yet. Will they provide the beads for individual children?

My daughter just got her beads on Thursday! She is so excited about them. I guess if gives her something to look forward to, despite getting poked!

They have a " beads from a distance program" for kiddos not in participating hospital area. We have been doing the beads and love the program!

How so you sign up for this? My 4 year old daughter is terrified of her blood draws and it is really hard to get her to calm down.
