can someone help me out on one thing pleazzz ( CHICKENPOTS) with i.t.p.. my daughter has not had chicken pots YET she be 5 in march 2010 im worried as keep getting told she must not catch it with her chronic i.t.p we live in uk she is at big school and soon i know it will be that time of yr it will be about can someone... plezzz tell me if u had it ur self or have had a child with it and what or how did they react to it what to do if they do get it and anything else that could help me ?
she is not on any drugs and so far touch wood she is doing ok dr,s here are making me confused as some say she should not catch chickenpox and others say she be ok just keep on her cause if she do get it her i.t.p will flare up again and she could get very sick with it , so far she anit had it yet i did many yrs ago when she was 3 put her in a play group and they had chicknpoxs going round at time, and she did not catch it or if she did i saw no signs of it and at that time her platelets were 3
Paisley had the Chicken Pox vaccine at 18 months (just before she got sick and dx with ITP). She had Rituximab in 2007. Last November my 8yr old got Shingles. I never even thought about it... but Paisley ended up with Chicken Pox 10 days later! The Rituxin had wiped out her vaccine. Luckily she didn't have too bad of a case and it did not touch her platelet count!
