What does your life look like post-ITP diagnosis?

Hi, there! My son was diagnosed early last month with ITP. He had been off of school until his platelets increased. His first day back was today. I am wondering if other parents could provide some insight as to what their professional lives look like now having their child diagnosed with ITP. I have been on leave and I am lucky enough to have an employer who has provided me with some at-home work. Once his platelets went up, I instinctively wanted to call my boss and tell her I am ready to begin full-time again however, I am hesitant to do so not knowing what the near future holds. I work as a therapist and my clients depend on regular schedules making this an even more challenging decision to make. We have a very supportive health care team working with my son, however, they were really unsure of how to answer this. I am just hoping someone could provide some insight. Any information is really appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Did you discuss this with your child's hematologist?

We sent our son to nature preschool (where they hike on rocky trails and climb trees...) once counts were above 30, though with a helmet. Otherwise, we mixed it up with individual sick days, leave days, working from home days, and grandmas, but neither of us stayed away from work for more than a day or two.
