Well I fulfilled one of my all time goals...I ran the nyc Marathon this past Sunday. It was awesome beyond my expectations! 4:48 was my time. Certainly nothing earth shattering but I am thrilled. When I was first diagnosed the doctor told me I could not exercise. I was so upset. I thought i would never get to run again. Do not let any doctor destroy your dreams. I have no idea what my platelets numbers are and I do not care.

  • ITP since 2014. Retired nurse. My belief is empower patients to be involved as much as possible in their care. Read, read, read & ALWAYS question medics about the evidence base they use.

Brilliant Emily well done..don't think I'd manage a marathon. I started walking a minimum of 10k steps a day in 2016. This year I'm averaging over 13k a day. That's enough for me at my tender age !!
