Updated guidelines from the American Society of Hematology

An updated version of the 1996 ITP guidelines from the American Society of Hematology was published on-line February 2011 in the journal Blood.  See Neunert C et al.  "Clinical guideline update on 'Immune thrombocytopenia: an evidence based practice guideline developed by the American Society of Hematology.'

International consensus report on ITP

A group of 22 ITP experts from 8 countries met to combine their clinical knowledge with the latest published research in ITP. The result is Provan D et al. "International consensus report on the investigation and management of primary immune thrombocytopenia" published in the journal Blood in January 14, 2010.

"How I Treat..." advice from the experts

Drs. Bussel and Cines published their orginal article on the subject in 2005.  Treatment philosophies have changed so they published an update in 2012.
